Religion

Generally speaking, Okinawans worship their ancestors, so most of them do not belong to a particular religious group.
Visiting cemeteries, traditional ritual sites, or watching rites at these sites may be restricted by locals at times; however restrictions for tourists are rare

Dietary habits

On Okinawa, pork and other meat based dishes are an essential part of their diet.
Because there are dishes that can be determine whether they include meat from their names, such as Vegetable Stir-fry, ask the restaurant staff if it includes pork in case you cannot eat it.

Climate and time difference

Okinawa is located in the southernmost of Japan and it enjoys a warm climate all year round. It does not snow.
